Letting go is a part of life we can’t avoid. No matter how hard we try change must come. Letting go has a way of getting your attention, ready or not. Letting go is also not concerned about people or circumstances you are connected to. It cares less about who does or does not agree with the demand it is placing on your life.

Letting go seems to always send the invitation at the wrong time. It is the pressure that refuses to let up until submission holds its hand. Wrestling with letting go is a battle with fear, free will, uncertainty, time, comfortability, and many times God.

If we are honest, we can count on our fingers the times we knew letting go was necessary. Even still we tried our hardest to stop the consequences we knew would come. We held our fists up high with conviction, thinking we knew best. The desire to control the situation increased so did anger, unrest, resentment, and confusion. In this daunting moment do we stay in the boxing ring until we are down for the count or do we choose to wave the white flag.

God knows letting go is hard. He knows very well the pain that comes from it. I can only imagine how God felt letting go of his one and only begotten Son to a world (he created) that will reject and punish him for loving it.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”~John 3:16 {KJV}

Letting go most times will cause people to not understand you, your life will change, you could feel exposed like an open wound, and you might go through it alone. Yes, it is a sacrifice. God knows our natural instinct is to resist, to fight back, to protect what we built. He knows the spirit of fear is ready to take from you what Daddy God has for you on the other side. God also knows if we don’t let go purpose would be hindered. He knows growth will slow up. He knows what you prayed for inspired by the Holy Spirit is threatened to miss the aligned season.

I am here to encourage you to let go of the fear, let go of the control, let go of the comfort zone, let go of the pride, let go of the desire to control what is ultimately orchestrated by God so what is already prepared for you can be released.

Weekly Reflection

 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” Psalm 37:23-24 {KJV}
