Untouched Emotions

I woke up today not knowing how I felt. I have many days when I don't know what to think, say or pray. Last night before I went to sleep I was discouraged because I did not feel inspired. My mind struggled with putting words together to communicate verbally and on paper. Honestly, I went to sleep a little sad. Upon waking this morning I listened to a video to get poured into then I sat quiet still not knowing what was wrong internally. So, my response to these untouched emotions was I cleaned and tidied my home. Cleaning is therapeutic for me. It is a core need that helps to empty out the fuzziness in my mind and body.

When you are in a weird space what do you do to reclaim your preferred state of being? When you are stressed, does connecting with your core needs help you refocus? I needed to get some cleaning done so doing so gave me relief mentally (process what was on my mind) and physically (improve my environment). Checking in with myself shown me I needed to re-evaluate what I have going on and possibly make changes.

When you are distracted, feeling low, feeling unlike yourself, etc., do you check-in with yourself?

Have you been neglecting yourself?

Are you flooded with extra work on your plate?

How’s your eating habits?

Are you overwhelmed?

Are you sleeping well?

Eating well?

Spending intentional time with God?

Does this resonate with you?

Just as I had to be reminded to get quiet and re-evaluate my life I encourage you to do the same. Take some time to honor your present needs so you can feel aligned, focused and at ease with the assignments you have before you.
